Mr. Roberson's highlighted points in his YouTube video pretty much reflected the notes I took when I read Chapter 1 on my own. I like how the book goes in depth about how to analyze a piece of writing, and how you said that simply summarizing an essay makes for a terrible analysis. This resonated with me because if I'm being honest, I'm not very good at writing strong, detailed reflections - and when I have to write an essay on something, I tend to start summarizing, which makes for a lot of fluff and useless information. In addition, rarely ever do I think about the author's attitude toward their subject. I focus strictly on the essay itself. In conclusion, the Bedford Reader has taught me much about how I need to behave while reading, and I will definitely try to make use of these tips.
